CPAP Care Support

Maintain & Clean · by Thomas Software LLC

What does CPAP Care do?

It keeps a clock on every part of your PAP setup — mask, cushion, headgear, tubing, filters, water chamber, and the machine itself — and reminds you when each is due for replacement or cleaning. It works with CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP equipment.

Where do the replacement intervals come from?

The defaults follow the VA CPAP Recommended Supply Replacement Schedule item for item. The VA sheet has no line for headgear or the machine, so those use the Medicare norm (headgear every 6 months) and the typical 5-year machine lifespan, and are labeled that way in the app. Cleaning intervals are common manufacturer guidance.

ItemDefault
Mask frameEvery 3 months
Full face or nasal cushionEvery month
Nasal pillowsEvery 15 days
Headgear, chin strapEvery 6 months
TubingEvery 3 months
Disposable filterEvery 15 days
Reusable filter, water chamberEvery 6 months
PAP machineEvery 5 years

Every interval is yours to change: open Equipment, tap a part, and pick a preset or a custom number of days, weeks, or months. Reset to standard brings back the defaults.

My insurance or provider uses different intervals

Follow them. Your provider's guidance always overrides the app. Set each part to match your plan from the Equipment tab.

I'm not getting reminders

  1. In the app, open Settings and make sure Reminders is on.
  2. In iOS Settings → Notifications → CPAP Care, allow notifications.
  3. Use Send a test notification in the app's Settings to confirm they arrive.

Reminders fire at the time of day you choose, on each part's due date, with an optional heads-up a few days before. Cleaning reminders arrive as one combined message on cleaning days.

I replaced a part but forgot to mark it

Open the part and tap Pick a date next to "Replaced today" to back-date it. The due date recalculates from there.

I don't use one of the listed parts

Switch it off in Equipment. It disappears from Home and stops sending reminders. You can also add your own parts with Add a part.

Does the app connect to my machine or read my sleep data?

No. CPAP Care only tracks the maintenance dates you enter. It never connects to your device and never collects health data.

Is my data backed up?

Everything is stored on your phone. It is included in your normal iPhone backup, but deleting the app deletes the app's data.

Is this medical advice?

No. CPAP Care is a reminder tool. Follow the instructions from your provider and your equipment's manufacturer.
